Michael Kors is an American fashion designer and business executive. He is the creative director and chairman of his eponymous luxury fashion brand, Michael Kors Holdings Limited. Kors was born in 1959 in Long Island, New York, and he attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He started his fashion career in the 1980s, and he quickly gained a reputation for his glamorous and sophisticated designs.

In 1981, Kors launched his own womenswear line, and he became known for his chic and elegant clothing. In the 1990s, he expanded into menswear and accessories, and he also launched a lower-priced line called MICHAEL Michael Kors. Today, the Michael Kors brand is known for its luxury clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories, and it has stores all over the world. Kors has won numerous awards for his work, including the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 1999 and 2003.
